You are welcome any weekend to enjoy a picnic in the cherry orchard! We offer a light snack plate of salami, cheeses (Manchego & Gouda), crackers, dried fruits and nuts and a salted chocolate for $8. Or bring your own picnic, enjoy some of Steppe's award-winning wine, some beautiful views and the Yakima Valley sunshine - a great way to enjoy your weekend!

 

Activities for coming year

Wood-Fired Pizzas are made once a month at Steppe Cellars in the clay oven we made.(Check the blog for a step by step on how we did this.) Cherry wood from the orchard fires the oven. Guerra's Gourmet caters, using fresh seasonal local vegetables. You can choose from their menu, or ask to have one made to order. You can't beat the smoky flavors of wood-fired pizza paired with some great wine. Pizza dates are listed below.

      November 29-30, 2013: Thanksgiving in Wine Country -

       

       

      We will be open 11 am – 5 pm Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30, 2013 for Thanksgiving in Wine Country. We will also be open Saturday, February 15 and Sunday, February 16, 2014 for Red Wine and Chocolate- as well as Monday, February 17, 2014 by appointment.

       

      February 15- 16, 2014: A Wine and Chocolate Pairing Experience at Steppe Cellars

      Red Wine and Chocolate at Steppe Cellars is always an event that lets us explore the flavors and aromas of our wines as they play off the components of chocolate. This year we will explore how those chocolate flavors can enhance some of our savory foods. Stop by Steppe Cellars February 15 and 16th and see how chocolate can enhance the foods we typically serve as our main course, and how our wines can further enhance those flavors. We will have our aromatic standards available for our guests to experiment with, as well as some information and savory chocolate recipes. Sample some warm chocolate –enhanced chili along with several different red wines and discover how red wine and chocolate work well together in the savory portion of a meal. ……And for those of you that want that sweet bite with your chocolate we will have a s’more and wine matching survey. Weather permitting we will have the fire outside (for those who want to leave the warmth of the tasting room!) and you can roast a marshmallow or two.
